"Marilyn"

Finished my Connie Smith as Marilyn Monroe.  Monday I take about 10 paintings downtown to the Jung Center.  The group "Le Quattro" ,( I am one of the 4 members),  is doing a show called "Elements".  It will be up for the month of April.  I have alot of new  work in this show.

Layfayette

while staying in Louisiana, I stayed at the home of Connie Smith, I promised her a painting of herself, but as I started all I could think of was Marilyn Monroe.  So I am doing a painting of Connie Smith as Marilyn Monroe.  When it is finished will post again.  What a fun project.

Hubbell and Hudson

The group of artists that show at Hubbell and Hudson down at the Woodlands Waterway  (myself included) are hanging a group of 8 paintings all of the same size for the month of April.  It is meant to compliment the Waterway Art Show that happens every year at this time.  I don't attempt to get in that show as I am not willing to risk my paintings to the elements of Nature.  However it is a good show and like looking at the work.  The theme of our show is "Festival", not sure I captured the theme but had a good time doing the work.

The Jung Show

The group I show with called "Le Quattro" is having a show at the Jung Center in April.  The opening will be April 14.  It is called "Elements" and I got water.  This strange size is a group of the 4 elements hanging side by side on a wall.  We will see what it looks likes when they are all together.  Don't think it's going to work next to a fiery red.

Some sketches from Wednesday

I am trying to get 2 paintings together , one for the H&H show (needs to be ready on the 15th as I leave for Lafayette).  The other one is for the Jung show with LeQuattro, again ready for the 15th to be photoed for the advertising.  It is amazing how I resist direction, just love to do my own thing.  As for instance these sketches from the watercolor society.

As you can see, there was outstanding work done at the ranch this time.  We had a smaller group  and I enjoyed it immensely, getting to know everyone better.  I have so many paintings floating in my brain will never get it all done.  Can't wait to do a landscape from the ranch country.
