another way of approaching a portrait

This is a charcoal portrait , it has a spray of acetone to make the wonderful texture.  Will try this again for sure.

I have started painting on top of paint rather than gesso.  I like the surface as well as the texture you get when you do this.  Contact me with questions.

Judged the NSA show last week

                                                 Judged the NSA spring show in Galveston last week.
                                                  The same week I judged the Galvest Art League
                                                    Show.  My friend in Galveston was out of town
                                                     and couldn't stay over.  Galveston is one of my
                                                                       favorite places.
