reviving the old

I appreciate now what a hard time the photographer had photoing my work with any gold in it.  It really reflects all over the place.  Oh well, learn something new every day..  this was an old demo I think I did at least 2 years ago.  Decided today to finish it.

I attended the watercolor society model session yesterday and the Woodlands model session today.  Think I got some good starts.  Will see what I can do with them.

am pleased that this got into the International show at the Watercolor Society, since it is my 3rd time in I can be a Signature Member.  I usually don't try too hard for all of these things, as they seem really arbitrary to me, but since this is my home club am happy to be in it. 

More experiemental

Am still working on getting some new experiemental pieces together.  Need affirmations.

Try a workshop at Wenmohs ranch in the Hill Country  Just google Wenmohs Ranch to take a look.  I am doing a workshop there Feb 29, March 1 and 2.  It's always fun and you can stay right there in the bunkhouse with all the other artists.  DenaWenmohs owns the ranch and they even fix dinner for you after a hard days work.  I did it last year and it was alot of fun .  I am hoping for some new faces this year.

Before the workshop

Am teaching a workshop at the new gallery run by the Conroe Art League starting tomorrow..  The city spent a fortune remodeling an old office building in the heart of downtown.  It is so beautiful.  The workshop room is fabulous, it has the original wood floors.  I finished this piece today to use as an example.  I always try to have some examples of different kinds of work to inspire the students.  .  Wish me luck.  I also had my website updated this week.  It is Lizhillart.com.  Take a look.

Delighted

I am delighted to report this painting got 1st place in the Watercolor Society juried show this month.  What a surprise.  Now if i can figure out how to get from Conroe (am doing a workshop) to downtown Houston in an hour on Friday...that will be a trick.
