Pueblo Dog

This dog looked as rugged as the landscape, he was very leary of strangers and half hidden.  Think I caught him, could not resist the pink.

Santa Fe Dogs

Saw wonderful dogs in Santa Fe, and they are walked by very proud owners.  Some of them you are not sure if you are looking at a wolf or a dog.  Can't resist doing a series of them.

Home from New Mexico

a stunning view among many, paintings floating around my head,  A favorite lasting impression was seeing the work of Rick Bartow at the Contemporary Arts Museum.  Have been a fan for a long time, but what a surprise to learn that what I thought was paint was pastel.  Amazing work.Rick Bartow, Crow‘s Creation V, 1992, pastel, graphite on paper, © Rick Bartow, Froelick Gallery

There will be critiques first thing the next morning. Questions? Contact Liz at Lizhill4u@aol.com or call 713-252-7726 Supply List: PAINT- any Watermedia you generally use. I prefer watercolor along with opaque paint, but acrylics painters bring either. PAPER- you will need lots of inexpensive drawing paper for the mornings. You will also need 3 sheets (22x30”) hot press 140# paper. We will tear it in half and use half two pieces each day. (Do not try these techniques on cold press paper.) I use Fabriano traditional white & will bring some with me for sale at $5 a sheet. DRAWING- pens, pencils, inks, colored pencils, watercolor crayons. Bring any or all of these. I use a lot of the colored pencils and crayons. COLLAGE- bring any papers you have, from prepared collage papers to magazine prints, old letter, sheet music. I do mean anything! The more varied the more interesting. MEDIUMS- white gesso, matt medium, black gesso if you choose and any other colored gesso you would like. Any stamps and prints you would like. Come with an experimental mind!

anyone remember Carl?

I took a quick trip to the hill country, and visited the beautiful Medina River
I did a demonstration for the Katy Area Artists on Saturday at the beautiful Katy Contemporary Art Museum (KCAM).  The building is beautiful and with all of the flooding last week only the storage area got water.
I enjoyed visiting with Ana, the director of the museum.  I hope that it continues to thrive so that I may someday get a show there.  A beautiful space.
